Thank you all for your prayers!

We are happy to have Alyona home.

I'm pretty sure she knew something was up, because last night she was still awake at 11:00pm. This morning she seemed excited, like we were going on an early morning adventure. If she only knew.

At 5:45 in the morning, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We tried to squeeze in some last minute fun before being admitted and the seriousness began.

We were surprised to have a visitor first thing. Sadie waited very patiently on the chair while Alyona first got an IV.

Sadie was such a sweetheart. I really appreciate all of the volunteers with pet therapy dogs.

After Alyona's procedure, we had the job of keeping her flat and still. Wow, no easy feat. After a couple of hours she was transferred from recovery to her room. The one time I had my back turned, she lifted her leg up and her incision started bleeding heavily. The new nurse had to apply direct pressure for 25 minutes. Lona understandably did not like this one bit. Finally, after four hours of lying flat (aka child torture), she was extremely relieved when she was finally allowed to sit up. Poor little girl was hooked up to more wires than my VCR.

She brought a few souvenirs home. They were not exactly the type of stickers she was hoping for.

She was definitely glad to be home and to get kisses from her puppy.

We would appreciate your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Heading off the Hospital

... to repair the hole in Alyona's heart. Prayers are greatly appreciated!
