We FINALLY Have Our SDA Appointment!

I was enjoying a hot breakfast--lovingly prepared by my daughter--when the phone rang. Well, I don't know about your house, but at our home, 99.9% of the time a ringing phone usually means that it is a solicitor... and yes, we are on the Do Not Call list. As per usual, I ignored the phone. The answering machine kicked on and I realized that it was not just any phone call, it was from our facilitator! She called us with the news that we finally have an SDA appointment for Nov. 30! She told us to book our flights ASAP and to let her know so that she can relay the information to our facilitators in the country-that-shall-not-be-named. I am so excited, we finally get to make our travel arrangements. It looks like we get to have Thanksgiving with our family after all and then be off on our excellent adventure to go get Aly!

Hi there...I am just another quiet follower of your journey who is already madly in love with Alyona simply from that adorable picture from RR. I am also a fellow SoCal person (Temecula) but our second home is CHOC as my little girl with Ds who is 2 1/2 is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. I am so glad that you have a date. I also have to tell you a funny story....my little Ella is completely addicted to her DVD player when in the hospital and one of her favorite things to watch is Jana Alayra. A blog friend of mine (Cheri from Raising Reid) came to visit us the other day and somehow we started talking about your adoption and she mentioned that your husband was in the video...when I look at your profile pic, I totally recognize him. So funny!! Good luck with everything!!
